Alan Yates (Director) – Physiotherapist
Alan completed a Bachelor of Applied Sciences – Physiotherapy from the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences. Alan commenced practice in a small house in Morwell in 1994, he took on a young new Graduate, Paul Hill. Soon after, they commenced Gippsland Physiotherapy Group together.
Alan’s areas of special interest include Lymphedema, Sports Physiotherapy and Pilates.
Gerard Farrell (Director) – Physiotherapist
Gerard completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Gerard and his wife, Nicole McMahon, took the opportunity to relocate to Australia after both being offered positions with Gippsland Physiotherapy Group. Gerard has completed his Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma endorsed in Sports Physiotherapy, and is currently completing his Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy through the University of Otago as well. Currently he is one of the local tournament physiotherapists for Tennis Australia, and works with both Nilma Darnum and Morwell East Football Netball Club. Gerard’s areas of special interest include sporting injury rehabilitation and prevention, post-surgical rehabilitation, and management of any spinal pain. When Gerard is not working or studying, he is commonly exploring Victoria with Nicole and his dog Pepper, playing tennis or running around Traralgon.
Danielle Spies (Director) – Physiotherapist
Danielle graduated as a Physiotherapist from James Cook University (Bachelor of Physiotherapy). Danielle has a special interest in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, Post-Operative Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy.
Originally from South Africa, Danielle was residing in Townsville while she completed her degree. She was keen to relocate to Gippsland as it reminded her of her hometown in Africa; offering cold winters and ease of access to the City. She was attracted to the Graduate program that enables her to progress her knowledge and skills in a range of physiotherapy areas.
Danielle enjoys spending her time travelling, doing snow sports, and looks forward to Gippsland’s close proximity to the mountains this coming season.
Ryan Irani – Physiotherapist
Ryan has relocated from Melbourne to continue his career in Physiotherapy with Gippsland Physiotherapy Group. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Physiotherapy from Latrobe University.
Ryan has a strong interest in sports physiotherapy and in particular management of lower limb conditions as well as managing chronic pain of his clients.
Ryan enjoys spending his spare time participating in local AFL as a sports trainer.
Polly Riddell – Massage Therapist
Polly obtained her Diploma of Remedial Massage from Gippstafe. She also holds qualification in Neuro Training Kinesiology. Polly continually attends workshops to improve her knowledge and understanding of the human body.
Sue Bailey – Administration
Sue has been with our Morwell Practice as an Administration Team Member for more than a decade.
Sue loves working in Morwell and has enjoyed getting to know our regular clients. Sue’s personal interests include (in her own words) “following the strongest footy team in the league – that being the mighty Dee’s”.
Sandra Onken – Administration
Sandra has been employed in a part-time administration role at both the Traralgon and Morwell practices for four years. She has many years of experience in similar roles. She also runs her own small business with her husband making timber cutting boards, and travels with them to the Country Markets.
She is a born and bred country girl, loves her vegie garden and growing pumpkins to excess!
